How it works - If you experience problems trying to finely tune the signal strength on your aerial/satellite dish, the chances are that the input signal into your aerial/dish is too high. The symptom can be difficult to spot but a poor quality signal, a signal with lines in or distorted audio could be a sign of a signal being too strong but it could also be too weak.
This problem is otherwise known as 'excess gain' (which causes your signal to be too high at lower settings). Our f-type attenuator uses precision resistors to reduce the excess.
How to use - The attenuator should be plugged into the input on your sat box (for example) or distribution amplifier, whichever comes first from the dish/aerial. This will then drop the signal by 6dB and will hopefully resolve any issues you had (providing that the signal you were receiving was too strong).
Decibel (dB) is a logarithmic unit of measurement that expresses the
magnitude of a physical quantity, usually power or intensity.
